Lecture Title:  Your Perfect Quilting Space

Duration:  about one hour

(plus question and answer time)

Format:  Slide lecture plus show & tell of products

You will be entertained and learn a lot on the way.  Topics covered include ergonomics of sewing, cutting, and pressing, along with a multitude of ideas for your own quilt studio.  Before and after photos of quilt studios featured in the book along with many more photos of studios finished since publication.  Demonstration will include how to fold and store fabric, how to store works-in-progress, and how to measure yourself for ergonomic sewing.  

Lecture is funny and moves along at a fast pace.

 

Class Title:  Quilt Studio Planning and Design

Duration:  6 hours

Format:  Instruction mixed with hands on 

studio planning using scale furniture models 

and graph paper

Class is designed for 10-15 students to learn the basics of quilt studio design and conquer individual studio challenges.  Each student brings her measurements and photographs to share with the class.  All aspects of studio design are covered from ergonomics to storage solutions customized to the needs of the quilter.  Students walk away with their ideal studio layout along with recommendations for furniture and storage solutions.
